Welcome to Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajnandgaon

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is district level Farm Science Centre established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for speedy transfer of technology to the farmer's fields. The aim of KVK is to reduce the time lag between generation of technology at the research institution and its transfer to the farmer's fields for increasing production and productivity and income from the agriculture and allied sectors on a sustained basis.

In order to achieve this goal, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajnandgaon is working in Indore District since 2008 according to following mandates:

Mandate of KVK
On Farm Testing
Conducting "On Farm Testing" for identifying technologies in terms of location specific sustainable land use systems. The assessment of various available technologies are done and best suitable practice is recommended for farmers to use. Subsequently location specific refinements in assessed technique is also done.

Front Line Demonstrations

Organize front-line demonstrations in adopted villages on various crops and techniques to generate production data and feedback information. The demonstrations are carried out on oilseed and pulse crops, other major cereals crops and horticultural crops of the area. The farmers are shown scientific cultivation practices and improved agriculture implements on their land.

Farmers' Training

Organize short and long-term vocational training courses  for the farmers, farm-women and rural youths on various topics of different disciplines to provide them theoretical and practical knowledge of improved and latest agriculture technologies.
